What is your stage/ministry name?

Individually, it is Desiree Ross Ministries. When I perform as a unit with my daughter, our group is Hiz Breath Ministries.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born and raised in the Netherlands until I was 17.

What are the names of your 3 illnesses?

Panic and anxiety disorder and depression.

Could you elaborate about panic and anxiety disorder?

It feels like youre standing on a train track with the train coming and you can't move. You're in constant fear and the slightest sound or movement is terrifying. Every move you make is done with extreme paranoia. It cripples you emotionally and mentally.

When and where were you diagnosed with panic, anxiety disorder and suffering from depression?

My family and I were based in Turkey. One day, I became violently ill. To make matters worse, I had an allergic reaction to the medicine they gave me. Once it passed through my system, they thought I was well enough to go home. That's when the initial symptoms of panic and anxiety disorder surfaced and shortly after I also began suffering from depression. God has been faithful to me and the ministry. But all great oil come with much pain and hurt. You see God has truly blessed it came with a tremendous price. You see leaving my home at the age of 17 and getting married so young came with many insecurities and many pride and baggage that I would no understand until later in life. You see I wanted to paint you a picture of what God does when he takes the least to become great regardless of all my short fall and heart breaks God still trusts me to do his will.

You see I looked for anything as glimpse of love, whether it was flesh, lust, validation, loneliness, insecurities or just better but I did not know GOD as my father and how powerful he made me. So I kept falling in and out of situations I really should not have allowed, from a teen getting gang raped, clubbing with my co-workers while I was a deaconess, to getting my heart split into a million pieces a couple of times, then trying to fill the hurt with temporary flesh desires, having suicidal depression–anxiety-panic disorder wrapped in one, my son getting locked up, my children having babies not being married, loosing my 2 year old grandson and so much more. You see if I would have known what I know now, I would have walked, talked, lived differently….for real. But then my daddy knows my heart, he wanted me to go through to get too. How can I reach the nations, if I can’t be delivered from things, or going through things. You see we go through to get to for others not us to hoard experiences. My brokenness is important to God and prepares us for the nations.

We all have daily struggles and life happens but how you respond is key to God’s anointing on your life.I still feel bad at times, but then he reminds me of how much he loves me, and he does not remember my short falls any longer, I am forgiven because I have forgiven others…..that deeply hurt me.

Have ever been bullied before because you were viewed differently? Yes I was, but as I grew in Christ, I realized my influence and it helped me to persevere and become stronger through every trial.

When did you realize that your artistic gift was going to be used for a higher purpose?

I began dancing at a very young age. I was involved in ballroom dancing and we would compete and travel everywhere. So when I began to transition spiritually, I was humbled that took what I had flaws and all and gave me a platform to glorify him and introduce others to Christ.

Has there ever been a trial in your life that you re-created in ministry?

Yes, the death of my grandson. I actually performed at his funeral. This moment taught me a lot about people and the importance of staying connected to God. Because during any trial, you realize who you could depend on and who you should depend on. So after getting through that situation, I had some support from friends and family but God's love and mercy is there for you all the time. During that time we had allot of lossesand growing experiences, but all ourhumble beginnings has made us somuch stronger as a family and core Christian values.

When it comes to the industry, what advice do you have for up and coming artists in mime ministry?

I would advise them to get connected with a veteran group or establish a relationship with somrone who can mentor you and teach you the proper techniques of ministry. You also need a desire to give back once you get to a certain level, so the ones behind you can grow, share, and continue the purpose of ministry.

Do you have a favorite quote that you either created or heard?

Yes, if you're going to shoot, shoot your best shot, or dont shoot at all. You have to believe, whatever you do, if you do your best God will always take care of the rest.

How do you create such amazing choreography?

It all starts with the music we select and then through consecration and spiritual awareness, the choreography just starts flowing. The beauty of our mother and daughter team allows us to bridge the gap between old school and new school ideals, so we can effectively minister to broader, more diverse audiences.

If you could advise your younger self about anything in life, what would you say?

I would say I regret not taking advantage of certain opportunities or began ministering so much later in life, but I'm comforted knowing that my regret was temporary in God's timing and everything I went through was preparing me for this moment.

When you retire, what do you want your legacy to be?

I want my legacy to positively impact the next generation and be summarized as a direct reflection of God in all I do.

Do you have a favorite bible verse?

Yes, it's Romans 12:1....Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Vital for the mime ministries.

What would you say to anyone who's going through what you went through or dealing with some other hardship in their life?

Regardless of what youre going through, you must always remember God will accompany through that storm. God knows your needs and desires, but you have to ask and then believe to receive. Thats the reward of having an intimate relationship with God. Before you wallow in self pity,remember you have an assignment. #ItsBiggerThanYou

How does ministry help with your healing and the healing of others?

With ministering being my purpose, I'm so grateful everyday I'm able to share my testimony and motivate others to stay faithful and believe in healing and restoration. It's not easy but with God the impossible always becomes possible. If he can convince this white lady to put some white paint on my face and praise him regardless of the circumstances, then he can inspire and bless anybody.

Let me share this with your audience and readers: Now while getting ready to throw in the towel and retire in the spring of 2012 , my first born Cheyenne, my first seed, my first student stepped up and wanted to minister with me, we are currently known as Hiz Breath Mime Team treaveling all over the world, teaching and dancing for God with my heart beat is Godly Amazing.
